Micah Projects has long been committed to changing that. When they decided to take the next step and establish an Integrated Health Hub in Brisbane, they asked Ethicol to help them build the strategy to make it real.
The work started with listening. A Health Hub serving people with complex needs can only succeed if the strategy behind it is grounded in the realities of the people delivering the work as much as the people receiving it.
Ethicol conducted structured interviews and collaborative workshops with executives, program leaders, and frontline staff, and cross-functional teams across Micah Projects bringing together different parts of the organisation to shape a shared vision for the Hub and work through the practical questions of how to deliver it.
The result was a fully endorsed strategic plan that did more than map out a roadmap. It articulated the Hub's purpose, the populations it would serve, and the impact it was designed to achieve. It set out strategic priorities, a proposed service model, a staged approach to rollout, the workforce and infrastructure needed to support implementation, and the outcome measures to track whether it was working.
The final outcome was a strategic planning document that was fully endorsed by the Micah Projects team. It reflected a shared understanding of the Hub’s vision and direction, as well as a practical and resourced pathway to implementation. The process strengthened internal alignment, clarified roles and responsibilities, and positioned Micah Projects to advocate for and deliver an innovative, integrated model of community-based health care.
